+ Can I share with others during the coronavirus outbreak?
Yes, sharing can continue, but it must be done safely and in compliance with the Government’s guidelines. More below.
+ How can I share safely during Corona pandemic?
We are all doing this for a great cause but it’s really important to stick to rules that your local government is putting in place, along with the Government’s advice, when sharing through Nirvana Helping Hands App,
For Food Ninjas:
- Always make sure it’s a no contact delivery or pick up (leave the food at an agreed place for the Hungry Bird to pick up. For example, leave it at the door step).
- Only share food with Hungry Birds that you would feed your family (fresh and healthy). Please ensure that you check the food request from the Hungry Bird for allergies and preference before accepting the request.
- Leave items out shortly before the Hungry Bird is scheduled to arrive.
- If you have accepted multiple requests, please ensure that two Hungry Birds aren’t scheduled to arrive at the same time so they don’t risk bumping into each other.
- Bundle items into a clean bag and add/staple a note with the Hungry Bird’s name.
- Add a personal note to the Hungry Bird – it’s a great way to keep up the spirit and they’ll love it! 🙂
For Hungry Birds:
- Give the Food Ninja a precise arrival time so that they can set items out in advance to ensure social distancing rules are complied with.
- If you are requesting for delivery please ensure the drop-off point is a private area with no footfall when the Food Ninja arrives on the agreed time.
- Arrive at the time you indicated, so items are not left outside unsupervised and you don’t risk bumping into the adder or another requester.
- If items are left in a bag, please leave the bag behind so it can be reused by the adder.
- Only take bags/items with your name on them, and if in doubt don’t collect.
- Consider leaving a personal thank you note – a little human touch goes a long way in these trying times!
+ How do I know if the Hungry Bird or Food Ninja has symptoms of Coronavirus?
You can ask them if they are feeling unwell. Please understand this may be a sensitive subject and should be approached with compassion. If you are still concerned, we recommend collecting or leaving food outside, in accordance with the measures outlined above.
+ I have/ I am someone in close contact with someone who has developed symptoms/ has been diagnosed with the Coronavirus. Can I use the app to order essentials?
Yes, of course you can! But please ensure you highlight that point in your message when you send a request.
+ What if I have allergies?
If so, whenever you request for food you can state what you’re allergic to, but please highlight this in your message to ensure that the Food Ninja is aware of this.
+ What are donations used for?
We make sure your donations are used to address one/more of the below social causes:
Short Term:
- Sponsor food or essentials to people who are in financial difficulties.
Long Term:
- Sponsor under privileged kids education in developing countries.
- Sponsor life saving emergency surgeries to those who can’t afford.
